Campus Stages, Corporate Suites, and Black Tie Nights: From SUNY to City Winery NYC
Strange Encounters: Winter 2025 Recap
It’s been a wild and wonderful start to the year.
From New Year parties and product launches to college campuses and candlelit dinner shows, the first few months of 2025 kept us moving. Along the way, we read minds, shared laughs, and met some truly unforgettable people.
January: Kicking Off with Curiosity
We rang in the year with a season full of celebration. SOCO Construction hosted a lively holiday and New Year party, and Lydia’s 60th birthday was filled with warmth and wonder.
Shortly after, we returned to National Business Capital’s holiday event — our third time with them. In addition, we brought some mind-bending fun to events for Candlestick Capital and Horizon Healthcare Staffing. Each one had its own unique energy, yet all were filled with connection, laughter, and unexpected moments.
To finish the month, we took Something Strange to the stage at City Winery NYC for Magic in a Bottle. With candlelight, wine, and just a bit of weirdness, it was a perfect night.
February: Love, Launches, and a Little ESP
February was a month full of contrasts. We moved from Katie’s bridal shower to the colorful chaos of NSCDNY’s Mardi Gras party, entertaining wildly different but equally excited crowds.
Meanwhile, we made a return visit to Great Neck Synagogue for a heartfelt evening honoring community leaders. As always, it was an honor to be invited back.
At the same time, we hit the college circuit with performances at SUNY Oneonta and Assumption University. College audiences are curious and quick — exactly the kind of energy we love.
Later on, we stepped into the world of beauty for a product launch with Sally Hansen, debuting their new Salon Effects Perfect Press Ons. Blending intuitive entertainment with branding was unexpected, but it worked beautifully.
March: From Milestones to Mind Games
March brought one of the most eclectic schedules we’ve had in a while. We helped celebrate an 18th birthday, a surprise 40th, and a formal black-tie affair that looked like something out of a film.
In New York City, we performed for a small group of senior executives at Boss Tweeds, with attendees flying in from across the US and Canada. The setting was intimate, and the energy was electric.
After that, we headed north to Portland, Maine to help mark the 70th anniversary of Tru Choice Credit Union — a major milestone and a joyful crowd. Soon after, we returned to the campus scene with a lively show at Hofstra University.
A Glimpse into April…
April opened with two standout walk-around performances. One was with the Extraordinary Financial Group, and the other took place at The Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City during a wedding weekend.
Both events, though very different, were full of spontaneous moments, surprising reactions, and strange little insights. That’s the sweet spot.
No matter the setting — campus, boardroom, or black-tie ballroom — we’re grateful to share what we do with such remarkable people. Looking back, the early months of 2025 reminded us that every audience brings something different. Even so, every show reveals something we didn’t expect.
Here’s to more strange moments ahead.
